FACTORS USED TO ANALYZE THE MURDER

ANALYSIS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS FELONIOUSLY MURDERED

 

1.    Subject failed to comply

2.    Subject was a wanted criminal, or a crime was involved

3.    Alcohol or drugs were involved

4.    Subjects’ actions displayed or were described having mental illness

5.    Subjects’ words and/or actions appeared to be suicidal and/or suicide by cop

6.    Subjects’ actions fueled by recent anti-police rhetoric

7.    Subject ambushed the officer

8.    Vehicle was involved (car stop, disabled motorist, accident)

9.    Subject accessed a hidden/concealed weapon before the LEO could react

10.  Officer killed by friendly fire

11.  A vehicle was used as a weapon to kill the officer

12.  Subject attacked/threatened officer with personal weapons or an object

13.  Officer could have justifiably shot subject first but did not

14.  Less than lethal force alternatives failed

15.  Officer was intentionally shot

16.  Officer was accidentally killed

17.  Officer was serving a warrant

18.  Domestic incident involved

19.  Incident originated from a 911 call

20.  Officer was killed taking police action while off-duty

21.  Subject could have still been in jail, prison, or deported
