What prompted the initial contact with the killer? At around 6 p.m. on September 16, 2023, LA Deputy Sheriff Ryan Clinkunbroomer was in his marked patrol vehicle stopped at a red light.
Actions taken by subject toward police: Kevin Salazar stopped his vehicle alongside Deputy Clinkunbroomer’s patrol vehicle and ambushed the deputy, fatally shooting him and then driving off.
Reactions by the police: Officers responded to the shooting after being alerted by a good Samaritan and transported Deputy Clinkunbroomer to a hospital where he was declared dead. After receiving information from citizens who saw a press conference on the shooting, deputies responded to Salazar’s residence, surrounded it and negotiated for several hours. Ultimately the deputies deployed chemical agents and Salazar surrendered without further bloodshed.

Despite Salazar’s intentional targeting of a law enforcement officer, Soros backed DA George Gascon has refused to pursue the death penalty against him. Salazar should have still been locked up in a mental institution and now he should be executed.
